Breaking subreddit rules may result in a ban from r/newtothenavy and r/navy.ĭo not encourage lying. I know this question is a little low-faith for this sub.Īs a reminder, this subreddit is for civil discussion. For example, I'm planning on attending law school whenever I get back home, so I'm wondering if my leaving early will stick me with some sort of "less than honorable discharge" that would bar my entry. I understand that dropping can take a while (though I'm choosing to drop on the first "official" day of OCS, so that may make it shorter), but what I'm curious about is if it will somehow come off poorly on a permanent record for me or whatever. I simply am not motivated enough to see this through, and I don't want to put myself in charge of other Sailors who want to be there more than I do. Hey guys, I know this question may seem a little strange, but I'm hearing a lot of mixed things about what dropping from OCS does and just wanted some clarification.Īs some background, I know dropping is something I should've done BEFORE coming to OCS, but, without going into too much detail, I only just realized that the Navy (or, at least, the military) isn't a life I really want for myself until I got here for the two-week quarantine period.
